Welcome to the homepage of the Coles-Cumberland Bar Association, a group of lawyers who have an office or home in Coles or Cumberland counties.  The purposes of the Coles-Cumberland Bar Association are to establish closer relationship and cooperation with the Illinois State Bar Association, and through it, the American Bar Association; to exert an influence for good on the life of the community; to promote the efficient administration of justice and the constant improvement of the law; to elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession; and to cultivate a spirit of brotherhood and good fellowship among its members; to foster good will and cooperation between the Bar and Judiciary to disseminate information and exchange of ideas relative to legal practice, procedure and ethics.

Both Coles and Cumberland counties are located in the Fifth Judicial Circuit and the Fourth Appellate District of the State of Illinois court system.  The Fifth Judicial Circuit spans Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Edgar and Vermilion counties, with a tribunal in each.  The Fourth District Appellate Court covers the Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Eleventh Judicial Circuits of the State of Illinois, and is based in Springfield, Illinois.
